Getting Around

Most major car hire car companies have offices in Darwin. Buses operate through Darwin City but services are stopped at lunch on Saturdays and do not run on Sundays. Darwin also has a fairly large amount of bicycle tracks and from the city there are easy rides to picturesque destinations such as Fannie Bay or the Botanical Gardens. There is also taxis, tour coaches, boat and Harley Davidson hire.City bus services commence from the terminal on Harry Chan Avenue and the Smith Street corner. Fares are on a zone system and are useful for seeing the main attractions and are available in Darwin. A private bus company does a tourist circuit of the city for a flat rate and will stop and drop off at the major tourist sites.

How To Get There

Darwin has an international airport with connections to and from all interstate destinations and also to many overseas destinations. There are also many light aircraft services that will take you to many destinations throughout the Northern Territory. Darwin is also well serviced by coaches that travel interstate and intrastate. Unfortunately there is no rail travel within Darwin.
