'Face the Outback' is the name for our 8 overland journey from the Southern Ocean to the Red Centre. Taking the remote Oodnadatta Track, our trip follows the trails of Aboriginal culture, European exploration, the old telegraph line, camel caravans led by Afghan traders - and the original, now abandoned Ghan Railway. Running since 1992, our 'FTO' is almost a legend itself and was the first advertised Adelaide-Alice tour for travellers to follow the Oodnadatta Track.

Nowadays, we're not the only people travelling the Oodnadatta Track. We hope you have the extra day or two to go 'Wayward' but to make comparisons easier, here are our itinerary advantages:
* 2 nights in the Flinders Ranges include a half day at Wilpena Pound for fantastic hiking and mountain climbs
* 2 nights at Uluru - lots of time for the Rock and KataTjuta (The Olgas)
* Travel the Oodnadatta Track - 'the road less travelled'

Altogether, we have more time to enjoy, more points of interest and more walks. So don't go frantic, "Let the others rush" as we say...

But we don't make it too easy for you! For a start, there's 4 big hikes:

1. The stunning Wilpena Pound in the Flinders Ranges (several choices of DIY hikes and mountain climbs),
2. Uluru base walks (guided) and climb option (DIY, to do or not to do - you have the choice),
3. KataTjuta's (The Olgas) awesome 'Valley of the Winds' (guided),
4. and the brilliant full hike around Kings Canyon (guided).
Then there's the desert scenery, some very unusual geography, indigenous culture, campfires, our wholesome tucker (food), great company and nights sleeping under a million stars.
